Hi Guys,
I just wanted to share with you a little program called Crew Chief. This program allows you to make pit commands by voice. You will find the download here thecrewchief.org/ The download link is at the top of the page.
This is a pretty easy program to install. You will first install the program then once you open the program you will see that you have to download sound packs.
Once you have it installed next you will need to chose your wheel from available controllers and set a button to talk to crew chief. As you can see from the image I have a touch sense wheel so I chose that, then select the action (talk to crew chief) and then set the recognition mode. I use "Hold Button" to talk. You can also chose a button on your keyboard if you wish instead of your wheel.
Next I would suggest watching this video for getting the most from your crew chief. This will walk you through some of the most important settings you will need for iracing.
Next I would learn the commands from this page thecrewchief.org/showthread.php?656-list-of-voice-commands You don't need them all and the main ones you want are at the bottom for iracing. They start with the command "Pitstop" followed by the command such as "Pitstop clear fast repair". You can also bring up black box pages by saying for example "Black Box Fuel" which will open the black box fuel window.
If you have any problems with crew chief not understanding you then I suggest training your machine for speech recognition. This is a simple task and is done in the control panel. To get there hold down Windows key + S. type in control panel and choose the control panel link at the top of the box. Next click on Ease of Access. Next choose Speech Recognition. Lastly choose "Train your computer to better understand you". I have gone through this about 4 times but I have voice attack also and need my computer to understand me well. The more times you go through it the better it understands you.
I hope this helps clear up some questions people may have about this program. It really does become indispensable once you start using it.
