First let me thank each and every one of you who came out and ran even one race! Even if this isn't a type of racing you like, you at least made an effort to try it. We had a total of 26 different drivers join us for our first season of GTE racing. For the most part, of the 11 weeks of racing we had 13-14 drivers each week. Racing is more fun when there are other people out on the track with you. My goal with this series was to help ALL of us become better road racers, and I think each and every one of us got better by the end of the season. You may not have been contending for a win, but you are better than when you started. And as I've told everyone before each race, you are racing against the track and yourself to improve over the previous week. Don't race the guy ahead of you. Take small steps and improve each race.
Guys, thank you again for coming out every Sunday evening to race and for supporting this series. I enjoyed the challenge of learning these tracks and cars, as well as trying to improve myself each week. I'm looking forward to starting our new season, hopefully on April 11th.
RFJ started out as an oval league years ago, but there were some of us "closet road racers" who enjoyed turning the wheel in both directions. I see there are more guys coming "out of the closet."
Glad we are going to run another GTE season. I missed half the first one when I was out with covid. There is such a nice variety of cars to choose from. I test them all for the following weeks race then pick the one I'm running best times with. I like the open sets format, lets us tinkers tinker! Looking forward to it.
