GTE 2021 S2 Announcement was created by GlennP
We had great success with our first season of the GTE Series and it was very popular with drivers of all skill levels. Season 2 has a few minor changes. First we have removed the included Cadillac CTS-V car as it was not competitive and replaced it with the Ford GTE car which has been around for awhile. More members may already have this in their garage from past series we've run. Second, we have removed Lime Rock, Silverstone 2008 and Barber Motorsports. Third, we have added a new track to the schedule Road Atlanta! Some of our new additions to the schedule will be raced 2x and tracks we have used more often in the past will be raced 1x. This season will be a 12-week schedule and we will allow for 2 drop weeks for those who might be missing some content. Also, the race scheduled on 5/30 is Memorial Day Weekend. We will run a race that week, but keep in mind you have 2 drop weeks this season if you are away for the holiday.
This will NOT be a multi-class series, we are focusing on ONE class of cars. Many of the tracks on this schedule are part of the official iRacing series such as GT Endurance Series and IMSA Hagerty iRacing Series. So you can get some online practice with other drivers, as well as have the opportunity to work on your official license.
45 minute race, 10 min single car qualifying, open setups, 15 I.P. penalty then 10x after (5 bonus points given for finishing race with 0 incidents), 1 Fast Repair
Generated Weather, Dynamic Sky, Time of Day 14:20, Sim Date (same as actual day of race session), Starting Track State 40% usage, carried over through qualifying and into race
Cars: Porsche 911 RSR, Chevrolet Corvette C8.R GTE, Ferrari 488 GTE and BMW M8 GTE, Ford GTE
Sunday Nights (*EST)
Practice 7pm
Drivers Meeting 7:50pm
Qualify 8pm
Race 8:10pm

Hi All. Thanks for the invite to join you guys and thanks to Glenn for getting me setup. Looking forward to my first race this evening in the Crown of Life event at Watkins Glen. I'm fairly new to sim racing, so will be taking it easy and trying to learn as much as I can. I also don't have any custom setup for the Porsche so will racing in stock config and just not messing with it. Fingers Crossed! Should be fun.
Looking forward to "meet" you all later. Cheers. John.
BTW: super happy for any tips
